Successful bilateral meeting with the Irish IP office
On 18 September 2025, the Controller of the Irish Intellectual Property Office, Mr James Kelly, visited the Hungarian Intellectual Property Office (HIPO), where he was welcomed by Mr Szabolcs Farkas, President of HIPO and Mr Péter Lábody, Vice President for Legal and International Affairs of HIPO.
During the meeting, the parties had a fruitful exchange of views on current developments related to the offices and on key issues concerning intellectual property.
They shared their experiences on the functioning of the intellectual property ecosystem and the progress of digitization in the Irish and Hungarian offices. They also discussed the metrics used in the examination procedures, initiatives to support SMEs, customer service and communication activities, and their experiences in the field of copyright.
The bilateral meeting reinforced the excellent relationship between the two offices, and the parties look forward to continuing their cooperation in the future.
